My Vacation started today....maybe tomorrow when I get paid I will go up to the art of shaving at the Mall of La. and check out some of their DE's...just sayin'
From what I've heard SirHarry, AOS is pretty expensive for buying razors. There are plenty of good, inexpensive razors on Amazon.com at better prices I'm sure.
Just a quick search on Amazon for "safety razors" showed a bunch of good quality razors (EJ, Merkur, even a Feather - don't let the plastic handle put you off, it's still a quality razor, like everything from Feather!). Check those out.

Thanks, Bluebriz....it appears that based on some of the other posts, ordering online is the way to go. Thanks, again!

Yesterday evening face shave:
Razor: Gillette Super adjustable
Blade: The same like always, Astra SP
Soap: Lucky Tiger soap
Brush: Silvertip with bone handle
AS: Witch Hazel water
The Lucky Tiger is a great soap, smells like a basket of mandarines and gives a good and rich lather. The witch hazel water feels like a real good alternative to common AS...smooth and realxed skin feeling.
Today in the morning, head shave in the shower:
Razor: Headblade triple
Soap: Palmolive stick
Brush: Synthetic brush from the body shop
AS: Witch hazel water
Smooth and good shave, also on the dome the witch hazel water feels nice and relaxing.
Best wishes from Germany....

Pre-shave Oil: Art of Shaving Unscented
Shaving cream: HeadSlick
After-shave treatment: ice cube rubdown then Nivea Sensitive Skin Balm
Went for both the face and head (in the shower) this morning and am loving the super smooth feel.

Sounds good npsbg... So good...The Headslick is still tempting me!
Head and face in the shower? Did you find it a little time consuming?

Oops - face shave at the sink; head shave in the shower. It took a little extra time, but not much, maybe an extra 3 - 5 minutes.

Morning Gentlemen!
I FINALLY get a MORNING shave. I don't have an arsenal of equipment (I'm not really an "arsenal" kind of guy) so most things remain the same.
Here it is:
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89L
Blade: Astra SP
Shave soap: RazoRock XXX
Brush: Vulfix 1001
Post Shave : Brut After Shave Balm, Original Scent (I actually used something differeent yesterday!)
Another great shave. The wife even has commented again this AM about how smooth my face is.
Comments about my first shave wirh the Astra SP blade:
I'm not sure this blade worked as well for me as the Derby blade. I seem to have a slight bit of irritation in one area around my neck line (I did get a very slight nick in that area). I had zero irritation with the Derby. Also, my shave seemed just a bit better with the Derby. I'll make a final call on that after another shave with the Astra SP.
All this should be tempered by the fact that I shaved last night around 6 PM and then again at 8 AM this AM. Usually when I shave on such a short time interval, I get a small bit of irritation/tenderness. That's why I will not pass final judgement on the Astra until I get another shave on my regular interval.
I really do love shaving this old school way.

Mike,
Glad you had a good shave this morning. I did a bit of backsliding today and used my Fusion. I went to the gym and didn't want to take the DE along (it didn't seem right to stuff it into my gym bag), so I tossed the Fusion in.
