Checking In From North Carolina

Hello to all and thank you for giving me the push I needed. I gathered the courage to shave my head for the first time last night after reading some of the uselful post here at SBG. Regretfully, I made the terrible mistake of choosing hair transplant surgery way back in the 70s. Since the scarring is quite extensive, I was reluctant to do anything, but hide my mistake. I could bore you with the details of my journey, but I think it's enough to say: I'm tired of hiding. I'm going to accept the 30 day challenge. I return to work this coming Friday and I suspect I may get a few comments. Wish me luck.....will you?
Thanks again!

Welcome mate! I am glad you are no longer hiding it, and have accepted the 30 day challenge. I wish you the very best of luck, but I highly doubt you will need it

Welcome and congratulations. Nothing beats the freedom from the "shame" of hairloss. I'm sure your colleagues will be supportive. Good luck and keep us posted.

Welcome Lee, great to have you join us. There are many others here who had transplants and I'm sure they can help you out. Where abouts are you in NC? One of my best friends lives in Greensboro

Five,
I live in Murphy, the far west corner of NC. I hate to brag, but I'm right in the middle of some of the best motorcycle roads in the country. It's beautiful here. I would think that most Sly guys own motorcycles. Am I right?

Welcome, Lee! Personally, I don't ride. I'd love to, but I have too much fear for my safety. Anyway, kudos to you for deciding to take the 30 days! If you are worried about scarring, some time out in the sun can help with it. What truly matters though, is that you feel confident, and that will truly overshadow all else. I hope it's an enjoyable experience for you. Friends and coworkers will talk, and I don't mean that in a negative way. It's a big change after all, but the extra attention won't last very long at all. If you keep shaving, in time it will just be your look.
Feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here for support, after all.
Beautiful part of the country you live in. I've been out to the Asheville & Knoxville areas a few times. Planning on moving out to Asheville in a few years.
Enjoy the 30 days!

Hi there Lee
Welcome to this fabulous site! You made a good decision. I echo everything said by the Sly folk here.
I don't think that "most guys who are Sly own motorcycles" But that’s just my opinion. For example, my Slyness and my motorcycle are completely unrelated.
Sly is about a whole new attitude towards hair, the control it has over us, and a new lifestyle, which you have just embraced.
Catch you later...
