Don't get your hair wet!

Monday night a friend invited me and my wife to come and enjoy his swimming pool. Ever since I shaved my head in January I've been wanting to swim and see how it feels with the water on a bald head.
But I guess I'm so use to the bald head, I forgot. So there I am swimming, keeping my head above water. Suddenly it dawns on me, I'm keeping my head above water so that my hair won't get wet! LOL. I don't have any hair to get wet. I broke out laughing. Wife and friend wondered what that was about. I told them. They laughed hard, too.
Immediately put my head in the water and swam a few times around the pool. I like the feel on my head, but I still get a lot of water in my eyes when I come up. Oh, I have super bushy eyebrows. They wick up a lot of water and drop it in my eyes when swimming.
I can't believe that I forgot that I don't have hair on top.

Similar experience, Mr. Z., walking in the rain without an umbrella. Quite a good laugh.

I have read a few posts here which describe how nice a swim is with a bald head. I am looking forward to my first "bald swim" in my pool, which will be in about 4 to 5 months time. I love tanning next to my swimming pool while reading and I am also looking forward to getting a nice even tan on my pate. I can imagine how weird it must feel, as I usually flick my head when I surface. What do you do now, still flick or just let it run off?

Had a similar experience. The other day almost forgot that I don't have hair on my head.
Was out cycling with a pal. The wind blew is hair into some ridiculous setting. As we stopped, made a comment about his swept looked and went to flatten the hair on my head. But I am bald. So forget it.

Not an issue here in Japan because everyone - from the smoothest dome to the thickest head of black hair -everyone, has to wear a bathing cap!

I have a funny add on to this story, but currently I'm in a remote location with limited internet. Will try to remember to send it next week.

I thought the funniest part of the story was all the sudden you busting out laughing and your people
wondering what was wrong with you.
I bet they were thinking,"It's finally happened, he's cooked his brain."
It's good to be around a group that can laugh at themselves too.

Nice swimming experience.
I enjoy swimming myself and the shaved dome is a plus.
I must admit that the first time when I get out of the pool I tried to make sure the hair looks decent... but hey, nothing that requires fixing.

Just went swimming today for the first time since going sly. It felt really good, especially since I was in the ocean. Well, a protected bay actually, but with direct access to the ocean. Air temp is 86 degrees, water temp about 75 - it can't get any better! And the salt water seemed to close my pores up so my dome doesn't feel oily. Next week I'll be back on a surfboard!

Yep, we have to wear the bathing caps in the PRC, too.
I used to try to straighten my hair when I first shaved to...funny how habits are.
