Husband is on the fence about shaving....
« on: June 21, 2012, 08:14:55 PM »
UPDATE:

(Original Post)

Alright, So I want my husband to shave his head. I'm 23, he's 26 (his picture is the profile pic) and he has the early receding/balding hair from his mom's side of the family.

His hair was fine when we were in high school, and when we first started dating a few years ago, but it's receding further and further. I think he'd look good with it shaved, but he doesn't think so.

He said he'll let me shave it, but I really want him to be okay with the idea of trying it, I don't want him to just let me do it because I want his hair gone, I'd love if some other guys could post about how he'll look younger, and maybe we'll get to the point where he actually wants me to shave it!

HE LET ME SHAVE IT!! :) I changed the profile picture to reflect the before and after pictures. I'm sure he'd appreciate comments on how he looks his age now!! I'll shortly be changing the information to him so that he can get on here for tips etc.

Take the initiative, since he has given you his blessing to shave it off. I am sure he will realize that it will make him look like his actual age once you get rid of what little hair he has left. Best regards.

There's nothing in those photos which suggests he won't be handsome - and probably more youthful - by going sly.

I agree with kalbo - you've been given the invitation; just follow through. Hubby will be pleased with the result for sure. And he is so fortunate that he has your support - frequently guys will post here that their wives are slow to accept the shaved head.

You might consider getting him some of the accessories for shaving (though don't scare him). Personally, I'd suggest St Ives Apricot Scrub (exfoliant) and Shave Secret oil [I put one drop on my razor and massage five drops into my scalp before shaving]. Both are available at mass retailers like Wal-Mart.  Later he can peruse the many topics here about razors, gels, etc.

Much success to you!

He's a handsome guy -- he'll look great sly!

Besides, in the very unlikely event you aren't both thrilled with the result -- an eventuality I can't envision -- it grows back much faster that you would expect.

There's no down side! Give it a try and take the 30-day challenge!

Heck, with your attitude, he should feel fortunate!
If he doesn't like it, it'll grow back...well, except for his bald spots.  :*))

If he doesn't shave his head, he'll never know the feeling of liberating yourself from a receding hairline.

He looks great sly! How is he liking it?

I am 25 myself, and I felt so much better for going sly. I hope he is loving it.

ConvinceMyHubby ....

The before pictures look like an old man.  Lacking confidence. Needing a haircut.

The after pictures look bold and confident.  Really smart. Like a guy who knows how to present himself well.  It looks like he has taken charge of life and is ready to meet the world.

Hubby, wear it proudly.

And I see from the map that you live just outside of Atlanta.  A bald head in the summer, here in the South is fantastic.

I love the feel of the sun shining and warming my head.

(just remember sun screen if it's going to be any length of time).

Much better shaved!! One suggestion.... I don't think the style of his glasses suit his face or his age. He may want to opt for a different frame shape/style.
Send on over and let's meet HIM in "person".

A warm welcome and congrats to both of you....The after pictures definitely better. The moustache looks good, but I think if he grows a Van Dyke, it may enhance his new sly look even more! (just a suggestion) Even if he keeps just the moustache it still looks good!

Hi, CMH! Welcome to the site! I'm glad he let you do it. You're a great wife for looking out for him this way.

He looks MUCH better! I do want to echo Mike though, and suggest a different set of frames. It could really enhance his look and make him look younger. If he is happy with them the way they are, then of course that is what matters most.

Congrats go to him! b$@Y

I agree about the frames.  Something smaller and more rectangular.  Great job on the shave girl.  You're a natural.
