This topic has probably been done to death on the internet. I am going full sly for the first time tomorrow and want to find out a bit more about the fusion and peoples experience with it while shaving your head? I used to shave my face with the mach3 and found it was the best to use for my sensitive skin. So does the 5 blade on the fusion mean it will be even smoother? should i just buy both and try them both?

I am not prepared to spend the kind of money that these shaving systems command despite the fact that I can afford it, so I cannot comment.
My advice; go straight for the HeadBlade Sport. You won’t be sorry. The Schick Ultra Plus Blades fit perfectly and are a quarter of the price of the rip off Fusion blades.

I cannot agree more with what Waine said. The HeadBlade is definitely the best device to shave your noggin. In South Africa, the cartridges for a Fusion work out to about ZAR 60 each (about $6.50), whereas a Gillette Contour Plus (Atra Plus) costs around a tenth of the price and fits the HeadBlade. Both the Fusion and the HB do a great job of head shaving, but at the rate you go through cartridges shaving your head, it seems ludicrous to opt for the more expensive option.

I think the Fusion is better than the Mach 3. The Schick Hydro 5, I think is comparable to the Fusion & the blades are cheaper. No offense to the Head Blade users but several novice shavers here after reported getting some nasty cuts using it. Probably from pressing too hard like that are accustomed to doing with a regular razor when shaving their face.

I've never used Fusion, but I hear good things. I have used Mach 3 since I started shaving my head clean about 5 years ago. I haven't cut myself or had any bothersome irritation in years, and my skin is smooth to the touch with just 1-3 passes. Consider me pleased. unfortunately, I can't comment on the head blade either. I've never had any interest in trying it.
Don't forget that your shaving cream/gel/whatever will also play a large part in how smooth your shave goes.

I would try both. The fun part of the head shaving journey is trying many different razors. So... I would say try both. For me... the Gillette Fusion worked better for me. However....YMMV (your miles may vary). With that said, I have been shaving with safety razors (since April) and I have been getting the best super smooth shaves ever. Keep us posted on what U decide.

I really like the Fusion but the costs keep me away. Using the Wilkinson Triple Blade disposable does a pretty good job for me and they are much more cost effective.
