Any Jazz fans?
« on: June 07, 2012, 10:44:35 PM »
I've got a nice collection of vinyl jazz albums. Some of my favorite artists are:

Return to Forever
Jeff Lorber Fusion
Jean Luc Ponty
Crusaders
Weather Report
Frank Zappa's Jazz from Hell!
Ronnie Laws and Hubert
John Coltrane
Billy Cobham
George Duke
Herbie Hancock
Alphonzo Johnson
Marcus Miller

We're lucky here in Cleveland to have one of the top ten jazz clubs in America...Nighttown. I used to work there as a dishwasher in 76.

Nope, I don't do jazz.  Sounds too disorganised for me.  I could never get my teeth around it to be perfectly honest.  I enjoy contemporary pop and rock music.

Hey guys, if you're a fan of jazz, check out my post on the band Unwrapped - http://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/index.php?topic=17995.0
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

My joke from the earlier post aside, I do enjoy New Orleans jazz artists a lot (Harry Connick, the Marsalises, et al). For you out of towners, who have never been to New Orleans and are jazz fans, The Jazz and Music Heritage Festival, or more briefly, the Jazz Fest, which is held in late April and early May, is a must see for locals and non-locals alike....I last went in 2008, I think another trip there is in order!
