What Is Best Close Shave Razor To Use?

I am going to shave head bald and need help on finding good razor. 4 years ago when I shaved head last I used Turbo Mach 3 but I remembered it used to pull my hair and used to get cuts sometimes. Since I haven't shaved it in awhile I was wondering if there is any better razor that gives a close shave without any pulling and shaves good and smoothly?

Although some here will suggest NOT using the HeadBlade initially, I've been using it since day #1 and really like it. It's easy to control and I've had no issues with nicks or cuts. I hope you find something which suits you well.

Ryan, I am only sly for 35 days.  Initially I used a Bic tripple razor, but the HeadBlade captivated my attention so I bought it.  It works brilliantly!  Do yourself a favour, Google how to shave your head with the Headblade, and then go out and buy it.  You won't regret your purchase and you will learn the trick after a few shaves.

You don't have to spend a fortune on blades as the HB takes certain other generic blades too.

I'm a greenhorn with the shaving deal but I just picked up a six blade razor by an off brand - Dorco Pace 6.
It's actually a pretty good quality razor and no nicks to my head. The handle feels good. It was also the least expensive and the refills are cheaper also....which is what sold me. Korean company I believe. 

I also bought a head blade but it wouldn't get close enough on the sides and neck area. Perhaps with more practice.

I'm a big fan of the Personna M5. It's branded under slightly different names in several chain stores (CVS, Rite Aid, etc.).

You can also go to www.personna.com and order it directly. It's a great razor and the cartridges cost about $6 US for a pack of (4).
I use the M5 for shaving my face but I use the HeadBlade for shaving my head. I love the HeadBlade.

I use the Gillette Fusion, and get about 5 shaves in before I need to change the blade.  I've used the Headblade before and I might go back to it at some point, but I like to be able to do the head and face with the same razor.  Most importantly try some different razors and see what works best for you.

 Hey Ryan, I have only been shaving my head for a short while. I started out with a Gillette triple blade which worked well but I found it hard to move around my head. Bought a Rolling Razor ... IMO don't waste the money. Bought a Headblade sport and Headslick for around $20 at the local Walgreens and absolutely LOVE IT (disadvantage I use a 2nd razor for face) but count me in on the HB band wagon. As always find what works best for you, because we all have  different likes/dislikes and ways of shaving. This is a great place for info and support.

My personal favorite is my Fromm Straight Edge Razor.....I've decided to try the Headblade again for my birthday next month, A friend said that I might be applying too much pressure....as has been said by others on this forum.

I've tried several over the years, Mach 3, Headblade, but nothing gives me as close and long lasting a shave as the Fusion though I use the Mach for touch ups around the ears

Started out with the Gillette Fusion but now back to Wilkinson triple blade disposable mostly because of the price. The blade contours to your head which is a nice touch for me.

+2.  Fusion is nice for all those tricky areas that the headblade will have a hard time with.  jsut remember practice makes perfect and using the headblade (and/or any other blade for that matter) will take some getting used to.  Try sticking with whatever u choose for 4-5 times just so u can get the hang of it.  I was a bit disappointed wiht the headblade as the first three times I scalped part of my dome but i've been going without a single nick for going on 4 weeks (shaving every other day) now.
