Dandruff?

Firstly a bit of background info. I am 21 years olds and the family' genes have already started to kick in hard. Decided I am going to take the plunge. Since the old man is holding onto the homer simpson style hair he is of no assistance to me. Thought I would ask those more experienced.
From since when I can remember I have had a problem with dandruff, it comes and goes, its not that bad but is worrying. Can you still get Dundruff going with the sly? Should I use some dandruff shampoo for a week or two before taking the plunge. Basically this is the major thing stopping me at the moment...could be a bit embarrassing.
At the moment I don't have any work commitments ( holidays <3 ) so I can get away with wearing a hat if I have to cover up anything for a few weeks.
So basically what I am asking is for some input from anyone that has suffered from dandruff and what they would recommend I do.
After that I have plenty more questions...starting with how you actually get rid of you hair

shaving your scalp should alleviate any dandruff issues...at least that's been my experience.
Good luck! Lots of good information on SBG to help you with your decision.

Second this. I would have a small amount of dandruff from time to time, but it was never an issue after I started shaving. Not once.

i.ve had major dandruff problems, and that problem was one of the factors that made me go bald. I do not regret that call. it's annoying to suffer from dandruff. going sly will fix that problem

Scissors , when you do decide to shave have some thing such as a facial exfoliant (apicot scrub),and use it after the shave, it will help clean up the remaining flakes.

Hi & welcome to the site.
After my first head shave the dandruff situation immediately improved, so I guess I agree with the rest of the guys here.
My advice: take the plunge, get the head shaved by a professional if possible & enjoy the trip to being SLY by choice.
Best wishes,
Bilko

I'm on day 10 and chose to go sly because of my dandruff/scalp problems. They have basically all cleared up, with a noticeable difference at day 2.
The real help I think has been the ability to really care for the skin on my head with exfoliant, witch hazel and moisturizer.
Let us know how it goes!

Been shaving now for just under a month, not always everyday, and I can pretty much say any dandruff flakes I had are gone....of course that maybe a different matter If I let my noggin grow out
, but for now with shaving more or less every day, except perhaps bar 2 days a week....no flakes nor itching! and i much prefer it, give it a go!!!!

Welcome, and i also agree with what evhas been telling you. I had a mild case of dandruff and since since going sly i have seen nary a flake!, no more itchy scalp either

but now i cant keep my hands off my head because that smoothness just feels so awesome!
