St. Ives Apricot scrub...Noxzema is a cheaper alternative, but regular soap is a no-no (though you might could get away with Dove bar soap)

St. Ives Apricot scrub...
Does this stuff smell great? It SOUNDS fragrant. It would be fun to use just for the scent.

The smell is great, it's doesn't have that feminine perfume smell, and also IMO when you let it sit the grit particles tingling on your scalp feels good!

I currenty rotate with Nivea for Men Face Wash, Neutrogena Men's Face Wash, and regular Dove soap. All three keep my dome clean as a whistle. On a side note... at times I use the Dove soap as a "shave cream" on my head shaves and it works perfect.

L'Oreal Men Expert scrub works for me. Any exfoliating face scrub should do the trick.

Indeed. I use Burt's Bees peach and willowbark scrub, and my scalp feels GREAT afterwards. I would swear it almost tingles.

I too use the Nivea face wash. I want to try some other stuff too just to see if it works better. I feel the Nivea face wash might be drying my dome out a bit.

I wouldn't doubt that is drying your skin a bit... I would say try something more natural/with less chemicals, or at least a good moisturizer after using the Nivea face wash. Good tips above, either way!
Good luck in your search!

There are mild, non-drying soaps out there without excess oil to clog up the follicles. I use Cuticura. I also use a loofah pad everyday in the shower to exfoliate and remove any accumulations of oil and other scalp secretions that build up everyday.

If your scalp is flaking, I would discontinue the ordinary soap and use good quality pure glycerine soap. The plain commercial soap may be drying out your skin. Exfoliate with a good quality product every other day, not every day as this will be too harsh. Moisturise after your shave and again during the day.
