When you use a shaving brush, it's best (based on my experience) to wet your brush thoroughly first (sink or shower is fine). Then add five drops of shave secret and your favorite shaving cream in the brush while soaking wet. Most shaving brushes come with a mixing dish AND shaving soap (mine did) so mix the shave secret, soap and your shave cream all together with the brush in the bowl for better lathering results. In  your case you may have to lather and shave one side at a time (top, then one side, then the other side, then the back in no particular order) so the lather can last longer for a smoother shave. Good Luck!

i have a sensative scalp too. I've been shaving my head for about 5 years so i'm over the need to have it completely smooth all the time. My best results are to not shave every day. So I shave every other day at most. I also hardly ever go straight against the grain. I will take an angle but never straight up. I think that pulls on my scalp too much causing the irritation. Nobody but you (and other sly guys) can tell the difference between a fresh shaved head and a day or two of growth. I would rather have a little stubble than bumps or irritation. Good luck to you!

shaving products for sensitive skin perhaps

Wow! That's a lot of product. lol ... What's your method like?
I do not use that many products only about 2 or 3

 1. I just shower like normal and wash my dome so that the area is prepped by the hot/warm water, your head is clean [for me i use shampoo not soap] then when out the and dried off.

2. i head to the sink and lather up my dome and face or the area i'm shaving [i like to shave in the sink] fill sink with water to dip your blade in to rinse off and re wet your dome if your shave lather is dry grab a mirror so you can see what you are doing for the back of your head.

3. shave how you normally would wtg or atg [i like to go wtg] then wipe off any access shave lather and re lather for the 2nd pass if you get your dome smooth in one pass skip the 2nd pass the 2nd pass helps if you missed any areas.

4. shave again wtg or atg and wipe off excess shave later followed by a hot/warm towel to the area then cold water rinse for the cool down which is very refreshing after the shave.

5. towel off the shaved area followed by a tonic or some sort of astringent to clean up the shave area then the aftershave gel/lotion and gel/oil lotion depending on the mood and rub that into the scalp look slick and smooth.

Try not using the HeadShed or any exfoliant every day, but every 3-5 days.  I bet that will help get rid of some of the irritation.  Scrubbing your scalp with rough particles every day can't be good.
