Newbie here - question for you fellas.
I've had a goatee since I was 17 (44 now) and have always kept it very short. Back in November, I started growing it out and it's about 2" long now, but it's got this S-shaped wave in it. No amount of conditioner, combing, or brushing is taking it out. Does anyone know of any products that will straighten wavy goatee hair?
Thanks...

'fraid not. That's why I don't let my beard grow out much longer than it is. Once it gets any longer it starts doing weird curly Castro things.

Thanks, buddy! But that's not the answer I wanted to hear. :-(
Maybe I could iron it. HAHA

Don't laugh too hard -- there are those straightening irons that women use to straighten their hair. Not sure if you want to go that route or not.

That's one of my concerns also... If i allow it to grow more than 2 inches... it might curl also, that's why i keep it in 1" length... But wish to grow it more than 2 inches... Yes how can i straight it man?

They make a mustache/beard wax. You can get the non-wet look.

My sugge stion is to use the same approach that's used by many guys with moustache wax, apply the wax and then with a hair dryer on a moderate setting in one hand use a good comb to comb it in. The dryer softens the wax and the combing straightens the whiskers. Youll need to experiment a bit to figure out how to do both at once and let the wax set at the same time. Possibly a trip to one of the beard chat boards would give you some other ideas. Private message SaintC if he doesn't respond to this thread,I'm pretty sure he follows at least one of them.
BTW - welcome to the Sly gang!

I think this board is the one Sailor61 is referring to and particularly these rules are helpful as you let the face bush grow out.

If you search that site they may have a thread on the issue that works for you. In any event you've got a really good looking growth going--keep the faith, keep growing.

Good point, and it will grow back if you don't like the dome and fur look after thirty days.
