I think I have had this best thing is use a moisturiser or one of the hosts of creams avaailiable , I assume it is sore feeling and red ?

ah you use a alcohol based aftershave that must sting , no dont use that use a cream nivea , cocoa butter if your other half does not mind chocolate or even olive oil , almond oil or somthing of that nature . I got a iol stuff that you get from african barbers that works a treat . Alcohol will only irritate an already irritated skin . .simple cream from boots or moisturising cream thinly . it looks naff if it is still white on your head before you go out . I get a telling off from my other half if its not rubbed in enuf

Have you tried using Witch Hazel as an after shave. I use Thayers Rose scented.

Witch hazel helps. It's an 'astringent', which means it'll reduce razor burn - amongst other uses. You can get a bottle from your local chemist for about £2.00 - and it should last a month or more. I use it, too.

At work, in the men's bathroom, there's a tub of alcohol foam hand sanitiser. When I go to the office and the coast is clear, I put some of that on my head, too. It stings (in a good way) for about 30 seconds. Then leaves your head so smooth and gentle. It's joy to use. I wonder if I smell like an alcoholic when I sit at my desk.

By all means buy a bottle of alcohol free.

Hi Shane, have you tried rubbing ice cube after rinsing your freshly shaven head? Helps a lot in relieving razor burn.

If you can find Thayers witch hazel i'd recommend it. It's alcohol free too.
