Need to do it, but still on the fence

Hello SBG. I'm still scared of going all of the way sly. I posted a pic. Right now I've buzzed it down to a #2. As you can see I'm naturally pale and my skin just doesn't tan at all, so when I do shave my head will be pasty white all of the time. I guess I was blessed with all of the good genes in my family. If I wasn't so pale I would have already done it about 6 months ago. I guess I just need some honest feedback of how yall think I will look sly. Of course I will have to do it eventually, but I'm still scared to do it right now. Thanks everyone.

Your sides may be a bit pale but the top will not most likely. Try Jergens Natural Glow for a bit of sunless color if you need it. But go for the shave, you will love it and look great.

You're almost there already. Given that you look fine as you are and that shaving your head won't look much different to other people [although it will feel different to you] after you shave your scalp you will at least still look good and IMHO will look better than you are now.
Forget about the paleness "problem" -- no one will care except you.
When you shave it off you will feel so much freer not having to "consider" your hair any more in your day to day life. It really is a great feeling of freedom and you will probably berate yourself for not doing it sooner.
Your hair is so short so you have already done all the hard work and made all the [sometimes slightly difficult] adjustments so it is not a big step at all. So much to gain and so little to lose -- do it today.

I actually think that your #1 crop looks fine, suits you. Some guys suit hving that shadow/stubble of hair.
There's no rush, no pressure. Go with what you feel

As far as LOOKS ... you will look the same. I look at your profile picture and you look bald. Yes, there's a bit of fuzz, but you look bald. Shave it off. and you will look the same.
BUT, it will feel so much better. The feel of a freshly shave head is very nice. Go for it. And if after 30 days of shaving your head, you don't agree, it's just a few days and you're back to the buzz look which from any distance looks bald, anyway. You just have to deal with the sandpaper, and Velcro feel.
When someone is super up close, it will look cleaner.

Hey, jasabb, don't be so hard on yourself...Many people are nervous about shaving their head bald for the first time....FWIW, your balding pattern is/was somewhat similar to mine, and I only shaved sporadically until five years ago. Anyway, if shaving is something you want to try, give it a shot, even if you go against the grain. If you don't like it, your hair will be back to its current state within a week. The good thing about head shaving is it doesn't have to be permanent for the wearer if s/he doesn't like it (unlike tattoos and piercings) Good luck, man and keep us posted!

Hey Jasabb ! Welcome to SBG! You are on right track by buzzing it down so everyone (including you) gets used to it.
With summertime fun on your doorstep, it would be a great time to just go sly for the summer and see how it all works out. Is your brother sly? How does he like it? If you want to use a self-tanner, by all means experiment.
Don't pressure yourself, just be yourself and enjoy !

Hey, welcome to the gang. Looks good at the #2. I'll echo what was said earlier...some guys rock the cropped look and you seem to be one of them. If you're comfortable with #2, stick with it. If you're curious, try a #1. It's likely only 4 or 5 days of growth to get back to the #2 from there....and if you get that far you may as well scratch the itch and just go for it! It's summer, life is a bit more relaxed, it's a great time to experiment with a new look; just shave that head...plus it's hair....it grows back! Usually too quickly...
As for a pale complexion...try the Jergen's Natural Glow or just go wiht what you've got...you look good now, you'll look great however you decide to go. It's all about confidence in how you decide to present yourself to the world.
