still struggling on the fence
« on: April 05, 2012, 06:42:39 PM »
My situation is not good ( but im still optimistic i can over come this) im 21 my hairs not too good...in daylight it looks like crap but at night in a club or something it looks perfectly fine...
i have shaved on two occasions the first time down to a 2 looked ok i could make it suit me i guess but then i felt wierd in a nightclub being bald at such a young age i did like the easy of not having to worry about it being messed up, i did pull one good looking chick with it but i had to let it grow out again.
the second time was a awfull experience to be honest shave it to 0 soo bad for me cos i broke my nose playing rugby the bald head showed this up even more hated it. my thoughts on how i could make it suit me:
get a tan (im pale as f**k)
nose job (i think this would make a massive difference also i cant breath so its kinda needed)
grow out my beard ( i noticied wen i shave it the second with it it looked bit better with it)
any other suggestions? what should i do? im going to shaved it again till i get a nose job mayb 2-3 years

i know i can over come this just dont know how yet

To the older guys ye should realise that its harder wen so young

1st of all...welcome 2 the sly fraternity.  glad that ya joined us.  anytime one "thinks" or has thoughts of shaving their dome; one will never be satisfied until u actually "do the deed".  as far as being 2 pale or having a nose job.... why don't u just embrace what mother nature gave ya?

also... there R many young sly guys here that shave their dome & have embraced their baldness.  anyways... just keep it simple and shave your dome & embrace your physical features that mother nature has given u.  good luck in your quest to slyness.

I'm new here and have recently gone sly. I can relate to your hesitation, its a big step.

I would imagine that its tough to be losing your hair when you're twenty one. but, the way i see it, you have a choice between being the guy that is a nervous wreck about whether or not his hair is jacked or you can be the dude who is confident and concentrated on the task at hand (chatting up chicks). honestly women dig confidence way more than a fancy hair cut.

what's the worst thing that would come out of going sly? you wear a hat for a week. it'll grow back super fast and if you hate it then you know never to go down that road again.

also, a bad ass beard helps.

good luck, brother

Welcome Tim.  The other guys gave great advice.   While it is a big step, the freedom you will experience from being sly will be a huge boost to your outlook.  Go for it.   You can always grow it back, but I'm betting you won't.

Hey Tim!

Give it a try and see how you like it.  Committing to 30 days of having a bald dome is a great test.  By then you will know what to do.

They are plenty of us here in our early 20's, it's not weird, I'm one of 2 bald guys I know and it makes me feel like a badass. With regards to the nose job, I get that we don't know the extent and so can't fully judge, but in all likelihood it probably only seems bad to you. Good luck with the decision, the fact that you have chosen to do something is a big step.
