Heard it can be done with a bic. Never tried it myself. As a compromise, consider Gilette razor and a pack of their razors. Should be around £10.

I have shaved a few times with a Schick disposable twin blade with mixed results. It comes down to technique and preparation. The last couple of times I went slow and steady with frequent rinsing of the Schick and had satisfactory results - no nicks or cuts. That being said I use a HeadBlade Triple most of the time and just threw the Schick in for kicks to see how it would work. I know the question was about bic specifically but I feel the Schick comes close enough for a comparison. IMHO

The only good thing about disposable razors is that they are disposable. So throw them away.
Then invest in a better razor. Your head will thank you.

I agree with others, cheap blades = poor results
You say you will purchase a Headblade, well there are several blades you can use on the HB, I would recommend the Sensor or Excel but have tried cheaper ones like the Personna Twin Pivot Plus. They give a decent shave but don't last very long, but given their price........
There are lists in this forum with blades to be used with the HB

Get a Mach 3 or a fusion and sharpen the blades.Right now I am on day 70 with my current fusion blade and I shave every day.Sharpen it using the blue Jean method and keeping the blade dry when your done shaving.

Wow 70 days. I've used the jean sharpen method but haven't gotten that long on a blade. Maybe because i don't dry it when done.

I took a 2x4 and cut off a leg of some old beat up jeans and put the 2x4 inside the jean leg and secured it with wood screws on the sides.I do 20 strokes each way and my razors usually last 60 to 75 days.I am starting to feel stubble at about 7 hours after shaving now so I will probably have to change blades this week sometime. It helps that I don't have much hair left to shave also.
