March Madness 2012
« on: March 19, 2012, 08:21:06 PM »
Just wondering....did any of you play any brackets? Biggest surprise? Biggest disappointment? Duke really messed up my bracket losing in the first game, but Missouri didn't hurt me too much because I had them losing to Florida in the second game. I only picked Georgetown to make the Sweet 16 but as always, it's an exciting time....Thoughts?

Didn't play the brackets but Syracuse is my team.

i'm really happy they made it to the sweet 16 especially since Fabo Melo is not playing.

Yeah, Melo is a huge loss for the Orangemen...but they appear to have good leadership and coaching to overcome that loss and make a deep run, IMO....BTW I picked Kansas to win it all just to be different.

I played one and I'm currently in second place, one game behind the leader.

I understand that President Obama is doing really well with his picks. Kudos! O0

we lived in syracuse for 11 years and my wife worked in the athletic department handling team insurance claims.  She interacted with coaches frequently and with Boeheim whom she respected.  This was in the late 70's.   We follow the Syracuse.  Only watched two games of theirs this season - they lost both games - their only losses.  We debated whether to watch  the tournament.  We did one game and Syracuse did well in the second half.

I grew up in Northern Kentucky, near Cincinnati.  So I support first of all Kentucky teams and then Cincinnati teams.  So I have four teams in the sweet 16:  Kentucky, Louisville, Xavier and Cincinnati.  I would be happy if any of them won the tournament, but I have them listed in my preference order.

Didn't play the brackets this year.

Well we're out of it. Was a good run though. Should be an interesting rest of the tournament though.

Well, I still have a chance if Kansas pulls of this upset today...good game between them and NC. The Final Four is in my hometown next weekend...Oh, I wish I could go!!!

i absolutely love march madness.  my bracket has several "red marks".  however... i correctly picked 2 teams in the final four:  (kentucky and ohio state).  i got kentucky winning it all.  they R a very young team dominated by freshmen and sophomores but they R loaded.  anthony davis & michael kidd-gilchrist  R future nba stars.

my favorite college team:  florida state didn't fair well in the tournament but we had a gr8 season winning the acc tournament.  GO NOLES!!!!

Like you, Warhawk, I got two of the Final Four right....except I said Kansas and Ohio State.....The only way I can win the pool is for Kansas to win and for Louisville to NOT make the Championship game, I made the mistake of picking them to lose in the first round (banging bald head over and over) >:( >:(
