First warm day outside and yard work from the winter had to be taken compleated on my day off. After fighting with a bale of pine needles and mowing when i came in tonight for dinner my head was still hot. I got a sunburn on the top of my head. How do i take care of it? This has never happened before.

Ouch! How bad is it? I think you now have to baby your scalp until it heals - use an aloe-based moisturizer, wash with mild soap. If it's bad, lay off the blade so you don't irritate the skin even more.

I haven't gotten a burn on the head as i am careful with sunscreen but in the past i have used aloe vera. Since i apply that daily on my head i would go with it.

that's a sad experience.
I've never faced it, thanksfully. and hope I never will. The weather is worming up in the eastern Europe also, I'll soon have to take measures against it and protect my head.

Aloe Vera gel with Lidocaine applied liberally. Stay out of direct sunlight. No shaving til the redness fades. Wear a hat if you have to be outside and get used to applying sunscreen pretty much everyday. It's a solid habit to develop. Feel better soon.

a reminder to all that when outside in sunny weather for a period of time - wear a hat that offers protection from the sun.

Well you, unfortunately, learned a lesson some of us learn the hard way. I wear a hat when I go outside for long periods of time.

Tom, you are on target -
A hat is the answer - -if I know that I am going to be out longer than a 1/2 hour - -always a HAT

Oh yes guys for sunburn i would strongly reccommend essential lavender oil applied at bed time if your wives boyfriends or partners can be tolerant , it will help you sleep and tat nasty stingyness and pain will be gone by the morning if not earlier.
