Bald & Beautiful By Choice!

I've been coming here for about 2 weeks now. A friend told me to check out this site and I was excited to see there is even a section here for us women!  O0

I shave my head by choice and it will be 10 years later on this month  !B@  I was originally going to do it for only 1 year but after that year came and went, I decided I really liked shaving my head. Then my boss asked me to "BIC" my head. At first I said No Way! But finally decided to do it. I absolutely Loved the clean look and have been shaving ever since.

You may be wondering why a woman would want to shave their head? Well for me it was a personal choice stemming from a medical condition called Trichotillomania. (check out www.trich.org) Thankfully not life threatening but not easy either. When I decided to shave my head, my father called me to let me know that he loved me and supported me so he had shaved his head also!!!   :@`

I also have a 16 year old cousin who has Trich and shaves her head but doesn't feel comfortable enough to go out without a wig. I am hoping to help her have the self-confidence to face this often cruel world - Beautiful and Bald and when she is ready to, if ever, to grow her hair back out!

Lord knows I'm not ready to any time soon   P@^

Welcome to SBG. I have to say I did not even know about Trichotillomania until your post. Thank you for the awareness. 10 years your already a Sly pro, and lookin good might I add.  O0  Its nice to know that women can also feel the confidence of a shaved head.  8)
