I found this website awhile ago and I have been looking through the forums since then. I'm 28 now, I started thinning when I was 25. It's been a slow process, but my hair is continuing to thin and I am sure it will be gone in the not too distant future. I had a hard time with it at first, it was very depressing to me. I was set on getting a hair transplant to fix the problem when the time was right.
However, after finding this site and seeing all the pictures and reading all the stories and thoughts on balding I don't feel depressed anymore. I've moved past the denial stage and have totally accepted I am going to be bald and look forward to shaving my head sly and moving on. I still have enough hair where I can "hide" my thinning if I comb it just right, which I used to do religiously in the beginning. I had someone point out my hair was thinning a couple years ago and it felt like a shot to the stomach I became super self conscious. However, lately I don't bother to take the time to style it like that all the time when I go out, I don't care if people see I'm thinning. I am no longer self conscious about it, in fact I'll talk about it or joke about it if it comes up and it doesn't bother me if someone points it out.
The reason I got over it is I know there is a viable option for me when my hair becomes too thin to maintain my current hairstyle. The sly look is the way to go if you thinning or balding. I used to freak out when I would run my hand through my hair and see all the hairs that fell out still in my hand, but now when that happens I don't think twice about it because I have the solution. I can't believe I was going to get the hair transplants...so expensive and as you continue to bald they show and look terrible. You guys really saved me.
Thanks for making this site Tyler it is awesome

Welcome, good thinking. And, if the itch gets going, scratch it and shave it down. Then, the thinning will be "hidden in plain sight."

Isn't it great when someone finds this site before going down the dreaded 'rug' route. Tyler deserves our eternal thanks.

Welcome to the forum. You're taking the right route in choosing to shave. Get yourself a buzz cut for now, then when you feel ready you can take it down to the skin. It's a great feeling, you're going to love it.
