Hi everybody, I'm new to head shaving. In fact I just shaved my head today for the first time with a headblade and head slick. It's going to take some getting used to but so far I like it. I hope with time my skin won't be so sensitive. Right now I'm very careful when I scratch my head cause it feels like I will peel the skin off.

Alan, Welcome to being bald.
I'm pretty new into this, too .... see my ticker ... what 30+ days. The head sensitivity was not bad and did not last a week even. Be sure and do the 30 days rule. I made a point of shaving every day for the 30 days, except one (but I made up for that by shaving twice on Valentines Day. I wanted a smooth head for the evening, too).
When you are ready, post a photo of your dome. It's amazing to scroll through this board and see all the blad guys. You're not alone. And a lot of BBC guys, too, like me.

Congratulation and welcome to the world of Bald. Most of us guys went through the same sensitive skin situation, but it should get better with time. You skin is use to being left alone and now that you started to shave it probably asking itself what the heck is going on. So just give it time and you skin will get tough and ready for anything it get.

Welcome aboard and enjoy.

Try some witch hazel after the shave. It'll help sooth the head.

Welcome to the freedom of sly. Don't forget two things--a good non-oil based after shave balm, like Nivea Extreme Comfort--and mix it with some sunscreen for UVA & UVB at spf 35 or better--everyday! It'll protect that dome and it feels good to massage it in post-shave. You dome will not feel dry and irritated.

Welcome to the forum Alan. Good choice on the HeadBlade and accompanying products. Stay with it, in time things will get easier and your scalp will become used to having a blade passed over it.
Listen to the advice from saintc, he knows what he's talking about.

Welcome, Alan. Today marks the 30th day for me since I began shaving my head. I was apprehensive at first, but I have come to enjoy it. I have made a permanent lifestyle change, and I think in time you will, too.

Welcome Alan,
I use some witch hazel after I shave and it helps sooth the head. You could also try some Aloe Vera lotion Which I also use. saintc gave some good advice too.

Welcome. Yes - your scalp will feel a little strange at first, but in a short amount of time it will adjust to being shaved and bare. Also, it won't take very long before you will forget what it was like to have hair!
