After shaving options

There have been lots of ideas floated here about what to do after shaving.
witch hazel, aftershave splash with fragrance and perhaps alcohol (in the after shave, not as in beer), aloe vera gel, nivea and other lotions.
Seems like a lot you COULD do. Are the treatments like witch hazel, alcohol, after shave splash .... choose one of the above.
Likewise, is aloe vera gel, nivea, noxema, coconut oil, again a choose one of the above?
Or do some of you do many of or all of the above?

I'm a believer that usually "less is more". Many days I don't do anything but shave and buff it dry.
BUT...... I do like the Nivea After Shave Balms/Lotions. Nivea has a new one named "Cool Kick - Arctic Freeze - 2 in 1".
Very nice and smells great. Reasonably priced at about $6 or $7 US.

I like hit it a lick with which hazel for the clean-up...it has a pinch of alcohol (14%) and then use aloe or sunscreen to make the ol' gourd look slick as greased owl sh*t. Good luck, Zman!

I think I saw some of this at Walgreen's yesterday. Bought a different style of Nivea. I like the scent and my head has felt very slick/smooth all morning. Not sure it is a shiny as aloe vera, though.

I used to use something with alcohol, but I quit it, I kinda hated it.
now I'm using some Nivea for sensitive skin, and it works.

Is alum a powder, cream, lotion etc?

alun is a mineral - it comes either in a lump or (I think the better option) cut into a cake about the size of a bar of soap. after shaving and rinsing you wet the alum bar and wipe it over the freshly shaved area. then you have 2 options, leave it to stay or rinse after a minute or two. does a very nice job closing your pores/tightening the skin. also helps to stop any little bleeders you mighthave knicked.

I use just an aloe gel following a cold rinse. All I need. Everything else irritates my dome.

I keep it simple too now. After shaving, I just use a face cleaner or just plain soap to do another wash. then a moisturizer after that (either headblade glossy or aveeno). Spring and Summer, i'll use a moisturizer with an SPF 15. Headblade also has a moisturizer with SPF but it's not a glossy finish though.

After shaving I just do a cold water rinse, then Aloe Vera gel. Works fine - nice shine too.

I shave in the shower for now, and after I rinse my head with cold water, I run a little dab of aloe vera moisturizing soap over my head, and then rinse that. Nice shine!

Cold rinse. Big splash of pinaud bay rum or arko aftershave to clean it all up. Dollop of aloe Vera gel. Job done.
