Dreadlock combovers
« on: May 03, 2007, 01:29:35 PM »
Two days ago, I saw a black gentleman with very long dreadlocks at the store I work at.  Nothing too unsusal so far.  A few minutes later, I saw him again from the back and he had his dreads going over a very big bald spot in the back about the size of my hand.  I have to say that was the most unusual combover I have seen.  Or would it be called a dreadover.  Or is it dredover?  Also since we're talking about dreadlocks and baldness, I think that Stevie Wonder should also lose the dreads.  He is practially bald in the front.  Of course, he can't see, so it probably doesn't matter.  But he would look pretty cool as a sly guy I think!

I saw something similar the other day.  They guy didn't have dreadlocks, but he had long braids that were covering up a bald spot on the crown of his head.  It he wasn't on TV I would have given him my card.

I had a brain fart!  It wasn't dreadlocks but very long braids!  Still, the guy needs to go sly!

Dreads are mor of a pain than anything... I had them in high school...

Basically you have to find the right kind of wax (a cheep one will wash out within a few weeks), find someone that can make uniform locks, sit still for 4-6 hours & then you gotta piock lint and other crap out of them at night.

On top of that, once your air grows out, you gotta sit still for a few hours while they twist the new hair into your dreads (hurts like hell) or sit longer while they pull apart your dreas and re-weave them (also hurts like hell)

A good dred job looks good... but it is not a hair style that should be undertaken if your balding...

Besides, shaving is just so much easier
