You will notice right away how intense the sun's heat is! Be sure to use sunscreeen and caps. You don't want to get a burned scalp and then have to contend with peeling flakey skin!

I'm told that swimming with a bald head is really different than with hair. Looking forward to giving it a try this summer.

Excellent shine and you're an excellent ambassador for the sly look. I'm sure that plenty of guys will be inspired to take the plunge after seeing your dome.

for whatever reason darker colors seem to go real well with sly.
Agree with you about darker colours. Though you can't see it from my profile pic, I have quite a shadow - which I do like as part of the sly look.
3 weeks into the new bald look, and some people think I've lost weight, not hair !! Mind you, it's motivated me to loose some weight. I'm average height - and nearing 75 kg - about 165 lbs in american money. Before picture attached.

I know what you mean about the smooth head saffecting how other people perceive other aspects of our appearance, Mr Jules. I can't wait to get muscular this summer like I do every summer. Not to mention the tan, too.

Thanks, everyone.

You got excellent shine ! How you do it ? Have you adjusted to the cold weather or use head cover ? Keep all of us motivated here with your sly positiveness !

Right now I am using a badger shave brush to lather up both my head and face. I'm still using Nivea shave gel for now, but I have Taylor of Old Bond Street Almond scented cream on the way. It is supposed to be one of the best shaving creams in the world. it comes in a tub instead of a can and that is one reason why it is supposedly better. After I shave my face and head (I still use Gilette Fusion cartridge razors for now), I wash my face and head with a few small drops of aloe vera soap, and I let it sit for a few minutes before washing it off.
That's how I get my shine. I'm thinking that once I switch to the new cream, I may not even need the aloe soap.

...Taylor of Old Bond Street Almond ....
Taylor of Old Bond Street does crop up on this forum. Just noticed that their shop is 20 minutes' bike ride from my north London flat.
So now I know where to shop on a Saturday afternoon...
