I'm sorry for bugging in, but..why complicate when a straight razor does it all?

Still getting some razor burns. I'd like to see how an electric razor compares.

Just ordered the Panasonic ES-LA63 from Amazon UK. Should be with me next week.

Currently using the HeadBlade with either their own blades or Gillette mach 3 blades. Been daily shaving this way for nearly three months. Not always sure my dome can take a daily pounding with HeadBlade - there can be some irritation. In any case, I don't have an electric razor, so it will be good to have different morning shaving options.

From other posts, seems like the Panasonic can be used with HeadSlick ?
Time wise, how long does shaving with the Panasonic compare with shaving with the HeadBlade ?
Any other useful stuff to know ?

Best advice is to take your time and let the razor do its thing. You should get a good shave in about 5 minutes. Use your fingers to see how its proceeding and where you need to focus more.

I love my Panny but would be very happy if it took me only 5 minutes.  I've tried (with a timer) 11, 13 and 15 minutes.  13 minutes has been the best for me.   13 definitely is better for me than 11 and 15 wasn't any improvement over 13.  Something to take into consideration when talking about time probably is one's degree of baldness.  I'm bald by choice so I need to shave my whole head and it takes awhile.  I'm guessing but I would think that someone that has bald or thinning areas would need less time.
I also cheat after using the Panasonic by quickly going over my whole head with a Mach 3 Turbo (dry).  I probably don't "have" to but I do like how it makes my head just that much smoother :-)

Yes, it can be used with Headslick, which will give you a surprisingly close shave.  It takes about 4 or 5 minutes to shave with the Panasonic.

Thanks for the advice.

If the Amazon UK's 'estimated delivery times' are to trusted, I'll trying out the Panasonic by next weekend. So a Saturday morning rather than the working week will be good time to practice.

Don't think it will take 13 minutes to do my head. These days, there's less on top. Judging by the 5 o'clock shadow, MPB is accelerating and mother nature is doing a sloppy job of thinning my hair.

Will post a review.

Been using the Panasonic for a few days. First time, got very bald razor burn on the base of neck. So I know I use pre-shave oil before a dry shave. The results with a dry shave are good enough. Not as smooth as a wet shave, but good enough.

Today, caught one of those permanent red bumps on the back on head which made it nick. So will have to shave around that tomorrow by putting my finger over that. And in future, remember to be gentle and careful in that area.

Still perfecting my routine, but combining pre-shave oil with gentle razor action. Good results and razor burn all but disappeared. Good tool to keep the bald look, well nice and bald.
