I initially started shaving my head because I was losing my hair. The idea of shaving didn't even occur to me at first, I tried using Rogaine which did produce some results, but I didn't feel like applying it every day. About two years ago I finally had the balls to decide to just get rid of it all, and now I like my sly look so much that I can honestly say that even if I could get all my hair back, I'd still shave.

Yeah, I think I would grow my hair back, if I could.
Or just have it buzzed down a few mm's!
Here I am with hair in 2008 to make a comparison..

If I woke up tomorrow morning and I had the best head of hair that I ever had I would keep it. I would keep it long, down to my shoulder blades. It would either be in a ponytail or a tight braid.
It would have to happen without the use of any drugs or "surgical procedures" performed by a "doctor".
That being said I am comfortable being sly. I have seen the reality of what happens to certain body systems with advancing age and I accept that. When I first made the decision to shave my head, with the assistance of a horde of deer flies, I had already lost most of what I had on top. That made the decision to shave an easy one. I did it on impulse (flies again) and have never looked back.
I completely understand a man wishing he had his hair back and it surprises me that I have never done that. What it tells me is that I made the right decision.

My answer to the OP is no. My hair sucked. I never enjoyed having it, even when I was really young. I did start being BBC bout 8 years ago simply because I was done with having hair. The positive feedback from my peers flowed right in the next day. I knew this was my look.
Recently though, I found out I don't have much choice, as my hair has decided it doesn't like being with me anymore either.

I've just turned BBC, half because I'm balding but in such a way that I could keep my hair for a long time, I feel it's empowering and having hair made me feel like if there was a clock ticking. I'd keep my hair if I wouldn't be balding but then again, I'd probably shave it all off from time to time and I would have missed on the challenge to be proud of myself, letting go of my superficial traits.

Just one day when shaving there was less resistance on top for the guiding hand and the razor. Oh well. Now my blades won't run out
quite so fast.

Think I know what you mean. Lately, I've been noticing the top of my head staying smoother longer than the sides and back.
At first, thought I was doing a better job of the top. The top stays smooth longer for another reason.

No, I would not want MY hair back. It sucked so much, for so many years, especially the past five years. My life is revolutionised since taking the leap, and this is only day 28!
