About Your Sinking Spell

We have recently checked in on whether we prefer to shave in the shower, at the sink, or by some combination of both. Now we can get a bit more fine-grained.
This is addressed only to the real sinkers among us.
When you shave, do you:
1. Let the hot water run all through the shaving process (money down the drain in Ming's opinion)?
2. Turn the tap on and off, turning it on to rinse the blade after eadh pass or two to keep the blade clean?
3. Run water into the basin with the drain closed and swish the razor through that to clean the blade as you go?
4. Something else? I can't imagine what--maybe bringing hot bottled Perrier to the sink and pouring it over the blade as you go???

2. On the occasions that I don't shave in the shower.
3, IMO, raises some sanitation concerns.

I have an old pot (about 10-12 years old maybe?) that I boil water on my stove for about 20 minutes (when time permits) Once done, I sit said pot into sink and sit a hot towel on my scalp just like at the barber and rinse my razors out accordingly. Don't worry I marked "FSO" meaning "For Shaving Only" so everyone knows NOT to use that pot for food consumption purposes....Water stays hot a long time and I wash it out thoroughly when done...I guess that would qualify as #4

Option 1, because 3 is not sanitary.

I was in a basin, so I don't waste that much water!

1.--With the Mighty Mississippi running through my town supplying our water, "waste" and the amount of water I'm using doesn't seem significant to me.

At the sink, #2.
But #4 is intruiging. Maybe soda water would work.

#3 definitely... just like I'd seen my Daddy do when I was a kid.
