[For beginners] Looking for a close and safe shave?

If so, I'd like to advice you to use a Gillete Gel (any of it), and not cream!
The gel makes the shave more safe, and it also give a closser shave!
It works just perfect for me with a Gillette Blue 3

I agree with you...the gels (Bald Guys, Gillette, Edge) gave me better results than the traditional white cream...

They work better even with a wet electric shave also. So does neutrogena shave cream.

I agree iRock, though I do use foam and cream on occasion. I like to mix it up. The two tops I've found are HeadSlick and Bald Guyz.
What really counts is prepping, and you have to make sure your scalp is sufficiently wet.

By the way, what exactly is the Gillette Blue 3?

I use oil, Bald Guyz Gel and sometimes mix it with soap 'n' brush.

I like a shave gel better than a cream too. I use the Nivea Sensitive Gel and apply it after rubbing my wet dome with some baby oil.

  • Newport Beach, CA. A great place to be in March.

I rub my dome with baby oil first before applying head blade slick or bald guyz shaving gel. IT works great and results in a nice smooth shave. You might want to try some shavers secret once in awhile too. Shavers secret can be found at Walmart. It costs about $3.25 but you only need to use a few drops.

I've heard that it was a good gel, but I can't find it around here.  >:(

I vote for Edge gel for every day use. I like to follow it up once a week with HeadSlick.
