I photoshopped myself bald...
« on: December 28, 2011, 09:00:33 AM »
So I'm still considering going bald since I am balding at only 20 years old. It's not a perfect photoshop job, but it gives a good idea of how I would look bald, and honestly, it makes me look very...plain. I'll post 2 pics of me. One with hair and the other the photoshopped bald pic. What do you guys think?

What do you think I need to add to the bald look? A beard? I'm trying to lose weight now too, so maybe that will help? Newer glasses?

Abit off topic: In the picture of me with hair, do I look older than 20? Lots of people I meet tell me this. One girl told me I look around 25, 26. Could it be because of the bald spot in back of my head?

The bald spot could be the reason, but I've been told I look older when I started going sly with a goatee. My option with the idea on how to male yourself look less plain is try some styles out. It took me years to find a beard style I like and I still change it up. Also you can try buzz cutting your hair to around 1/8th of an inch to see how you like it before using the razor

Enough with virtual--get the real deal, particularly if you've got a bald spot--they almost always, like 99% of the time, foretell your future as a guy with mpb.  Going sly will eliminate the hassle of lossing hair slowly over the next 4-5 years.    Try some facial hair too--from your beard shadow it looks like you could really have a nice one.  Get in the gym, generally there are more sly guys there, and with the clean scalp and face fuzz you should be well placed to make a real change in your physical presence--and for the better.  Live sly & free.

I'm newly sly but always kept my hair very short. My advice is don't go by the photoshop picture. Buzz your hair with a 2 or 3. If you want shorter buzz it shorter but take some time to get used to it if you need to, then go down the next level. Once you are shaving with no gaurd if you feel good about it, take the razor to it! But the best advice I can give as a new member of this community is to read and post, there are a lot of wise men here that will be more than willing to hel you through this journey!

I don't know what those "2 or 3" numbers mean, but once I asked my barber to give me a buzzcut after taking advice from here, and he let me know there was "areas" (I wouldn't really call them spots, maybe "lines") with no hair even at the top of my head that would show with a buzzcut. Is there a different kind of buzzut?

The numbers refer to the length the guide cuts the hair at, for Wahl clippers each number equals 1/8th inch so a 4 is 1/2 inch, a 2 is a 1/4 inch, and so forth.  You can get guides for Wahl up to about 12 I believe.

But, if you have "areas" with no hair your mpb may be more advanced than you realize and it may be time to go straight to sly--then it's all nice and even 8)

I agree with Saintc, if your hair is thinning so much that it would show with shorter hair it's only a matter of time. Grab the razor and be free! Worse case you hate it and you can grow it back out and hope longer hair can hide your MPB for as long as it can.....

FYI, If you shave bald and decide to let it grow back, You'll be at a #1 in about 7 days, a #2 in 14 days, etc.

Comes  back in pretty fast. I've been experimenting with this recently and this is about the rate of hair growth.

The full headshave or a number 1 buzz will look great on you. The brows are facial hair enough on you. The haircut you have now is actually making you look older even from the front in your pic. A shaved head will make you look younger and more athletic. A girl who likes that look will find you.
