mirror or mirror-free head shaving...
« on: December 15, 2011, 10:10:16 AM »
hello fellow chrome domes:

i remember discussing this subject a couple of years ago and i thought it would B fun 2 discuss it again since we have so many new members on the forum.  just wondering.... when head shaving... do U use a mirror or no mirror?

i'll start:  when i shave my dome... i am a mirror-free head shaver.  i go by feel (braille method).  so.... how 'bout U?  when head shaving... do U use a mirror?  or are U mirror-free?  what's your story?

I'm using a mirror...never tried w/o it.
I will give it a shot, though.

I have a triple mirror medicine cabinet where I can fold the two outside doors to an angle where I can see the back of my head...I'm a little on the clumsy side, but in time, I can do it by feel more than sight...

I used a mirror at first, but for the past 2 months, have been doing it completely by feel. In that time, I haven't nicked or cut myself even once. Also, I'm faster at shaving without a mirror, but the end result is the same!

At the sink, mirror for the front, braille for the back.  On the rare occasions that I shower shave--all braille.

Shower shaver here so I opt for the braille method. However, I do have a mirror in the shower and use it when I need to be careful around a previous shave's nick. Once the nick has been shaved around it's back to the braille method.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.

I'm a sink shaver, have the mirror there however I don't really use it, more of a braille shaver really.

I usually shave in the shower so I use the trailing technique. On the odd occasion that I shave at the sink, then I shave the same way as saintc stated earlier.

Most of the time, I don't use a mirror when I shave my head.

I like a mirror - but mostly because I do face and head at the same time and I don't want to screw up the goatee. Back and sides are pretty much all "braille" anyway...

I shave in the shower without a mirror.  Sometimes I use a mirror when shaving my facial hair, but even then I shave most of the face while in the shower and then afterwards at a mirror for the area right around my beard.
