Hey everyone, I'm new to SLB and also new to "the look". Been trimming my hair to stubble for years, and finally completely shaved for the first time about a week ago. I'm still trying to figure this whole thimg out. The first time I used a blade and cut the heck out of my head. It took a lot of passes to get it smooth. Then I tried my electric, a Remington micro screen. It cut pretty close, but I wore holes in the screen before the second shave was over. I'm going today to buy a new electric. I think my hair just might be real coarse. I'm definitely going to stick by the 30 day rule. anyways, if anybody has some good advice for a rookie, I'm all ears. Thanks, and I'll put up a picture later.

Hey Racer,
Welcome aboard, man. Glad you found us.
You will find plenty of great head shaving advice here on the SLY website.
Look especially at the Your Shave Routine thread on the Head Shaving forum.
You are in for a fun adventure as you discover the shave routine that suits you.
Be sure to post a pic when you can, but you might want to wait until the dome heals from the first shave.

Panasonic Linear!
You can find these online at the Panasonic Premium store. Although I am primarily a HeadBlade man I have a Pan for quick touch-ups or when I'm in a hurry. They can be used wet or dry and shave pretty near as close as a blade.

Welcome, "X"! My favorite and recommendation is the Panasonic ES-LA63...it's the best I've found.

Welcome Racer. I second using a panasonic linear wet/dry shaver. They work great and shave close.
Welcome to SBG.

Don't worry. Your head will get accostumed to the shaves and it will be more easy to keep it smooth. You'll learn to shave your head without hurting.
For a big part of headshavers it started the same wey. First time I shaved smooth there was a lot of bleeding. Now I'm capable to shave under the shower even without looking ath the mirror, only by feelingmy scalp.
