Just drove by the memorial marker where the tavern stood where they started signing up Marines all those 236 years ago.

Yes, Tun Tavern...I read that people in Philly are actively trying to have a replica built as a museum/memorial/attraction.

I haven't talked to anybody that has had it yet. Tun Tavern was pretty famous before the Marines ever got there. I think Benjamin Franklin, who is buried right up the street, founded the first Masonic Lodge in this country there.

Hummm, I wonder what Ben and Tom ate in Tun Tavern...probably everything was boiled and bland like their families were raised on in the Mother Land.
