Charles Barkley
« on: April 26, 2007, 08:27:44 PM »
I've always liked this quote from Charles Barkley :

“I will say this, and not to sound racist, but one of the great travesties of American history is white men who are afraid to shave their heads, thinking they’re going to have an ugly head. There’s nothing wrong with their heads. But some of these hairdos, they’ve got to go, they’ve got to come on home. Shave their damn heads. There’s nothing wrong with your head. Sometimes I see some of these guys with the comb-overs or the bad toupees, and I’m like, Hey man, do you think you should shave that sh*t? Ain’t nothing going to be wrong with your head. The myth that white men can’t shave their head is just that, it’s a myth.”

I should send Charles a shirt that says "Sly Bald Guys, helping white men learn to shave their heads since 2006.

Why was Barkley allowed to say this about white men?
When Don Imus referred to the Rutger's basketball players as nappy haired hoes he got the boot.

I will answer my own question. Don Imus is an ignorant ass!
Charles Barkey is a first class athlete who is telling it like it is. He has always been honest and forthright throughout his NBA career and is a true role model for our youth and the SLY membership of this forum.

When he predicted the Warriors would lose to the Mavs.  But hey, he can't be right all the time.

After listing to Barkley's comments about he Suns for the past 3 years... Mosr Suns fans have already slaped that "ignorant ass" tag on him as well   ;)

Role model?  I always thought he didn't want to be a role model.  How is he a role model for our youth?  Perhaps he is, and I am just not aware.   ???

I lived in Phoenix (surronding area) when Charles played for the Suns.  Sir Charles is the man!  And he proves with great wisdom again.

And a big difference in what Sir Charles said and what Don Imus said is that that Charles' statement wasn't derogatory...
