It's Ocktoberfest time--and a lot of areas have their own cloned version of the festival. When you call for your beer is it regular from a national brewery like Bud, Coors, etc., is your preference light, do you prefer a local smaller brewery like Sam Adams or Abita, light or dark--?

What do you ask for?

There is only one beer in my opinion............. Guinness......... and then there's everything else.
The problem in the States is that most places do NOT know the proper way to serve a Guinness.

So far in my year of being legal drinking age I have found that I am not a big beer person other than Guiness extra stout and some other micro-brews that I cant remember the name of right now. Its just too fizzy/foamy in the wrong ways. The extra stout guiness is just right though

Chimay Bleue (Blue), 9% abv darker ale. In the 75 cl bottle, it is known as Grande Réserve. This copper-brown beer has a light creamy head and a slightly bitter taste. Considered to be the "classic" Chimay ale, it exhibits a considerable depth of fruity, peppery character.
I believe Trappist Ales deserve a category all to themselves.

Thanks Todd for getting me hooked!!! I got a couple of big bottles ready for when you make a trek slightly south to visit!!!

I repeat...BIG BOTTLES!!!

I stopped drinking like 3 years ago, so I'm kind of out of this topic:D
All I can say is that this festival is around Romania too, but I never "tried it out"

When I was in England, I enjoyed an ale called Bishop's Finger, though I met with some disapproval for refrigerating it.

You should hear the comments you get when you put ice cubes in your whiskey.

It's a hanging offense in Ireland. Spirits I can drink warm, but not beer of any kind.
