Shaved Heads On Older Men..
« on: October 12, 2011, 12:00:00 PM »
Hello all.  I have been shaving my head for the past 7 years or so as I was balding anyhow.  As a kid I always had rather large ears, and was teased often.  Fortunately my head eventually grew large enough to fit my ears.  However, I had someone mention to me recently that as we grow older our ears and nose grow larger as well.  I began to look more closely at old folks I came into contact with, and sure enough, the majority had larger than normal ears and noses.  My question is, when I start growing my big ole ears back, would it be wise to grow my remaining hair back to sort of cover my ears?  Yes, I am aware that this is a pretty stupid question, and even rather vain.  That aside, i do not want to look ridiculous as a shaved headed fellow when I grow older.  I am currently 48, so I do not have much time before my ears and nose begin their inevitable growth spurt.  Any advice?

WTF difference does it make? You're not going to please all the people all of the time, so just do what pleases you. Some people will think you look ridiculous bald, some will think you look ridiculous with hair, some will think your ears are huge, and some will think their ears are bigger. So just do what makes you feel happiest.

FWIW, I havent noticed any part of my body getting larger with age. Unfortunately.

Maybe when you 90years or older they might appear larger but by then you won't give a damn ! I'm near 69 and I don't think my ears or nose are to large. Believe me as you get older you care less and less what other people think. That's one of the advantages of getting older. Can't think of many more though. *!d

At 70 I certainly have not noticed my ears (or anything else) getting larger so I would not worry on that score.

However after being shaved for 7 years (wish I had done it sooner) I think that many older men would look better if they shaved off any remaining hair or at least trimmed their fringe down very short if the dome has gone bare.

Being sly is the way to go!

Damn Roger, I can see how the shaved head conceals ones age.  You do not look anywhere near 70!  Hope I look as good if I reach 70.

Even if your ears do "get big" (and I cannot imagine that really happening to the point where it's a problem), so what?

I'm older* than you and my ears are likely bigger than average, but I'm certainly not going to let that bother me.

Do ears and nose actually grow in the "golden years" of life, or is it just that your skin gets thinner and you lose subcutaneous fat, calling more attention to your ears and nose?  ???
Just say no to rugs!

I am two months short of being 80 and enjoy very much the sly style which I have sported now for some years.
