Head wipes to remove oil/clean head
« on: October 10, 2011, 03:51:43 PM »
I did a search for "head wipes" and most of the entries are getting old.

It seems Bald Guyz and Headblade head wipes were the most popular from a couple years ago. Is this still the case?

Are there other products or techniques besides Bald Guyz and Headblade wipes that you have found beneficial?

The HeadBlade wipes are good, but expensive.

A simple technique: go into the men's room and wash your head with soap and water.  It's a cheap and simple refresher.

The soap and water method, while cheap, does not fit with my work environment. I am constantly on the move and don't always have time or access to a bathroom. I need something quick and convenient.

Although, the soap and water method probably would work for a lot of guys who work in an office environment.

The HeadBlade wipes are good - they clean well and don't leave a fragrance behind.

I use HB headwipes and citrus scented wet ones.

I dont use public lavatory facilities unless they're intended for just one person (ie, on a plane). Anywhere with more than one sink or more than one toilet is out of bounds for me.

Unscented baby wipes treated with Witch Hazel work well for me. I keep a few in a ziplock bag and carry that around. It fits anywhere and those wipes have multiple uses (besides wiping the dome.....I'm thinking gastric disturbances in places where the available TP is 400 grit).

I use the prepackaged wet wipes for general wipe downs but when it's really hot and sweaty out I use the rubbing alcohol wipes that come in plastic dispensing container of 50 from walgreen's.   Good thing about them is if the ones still in the container dry out i just dump a few tablespoons of rubbing alcohol in and let them absorb it.  In the summer I kept a container of them in the car, on the boat and on my porch.  Generally have a wet wipe envelope stuck in my pocket.

Hey Sailor,

Isopropyl Alcohol, they type found in rubbing alcohol, is known to remove oily buildup but also will dry out the skin. Bald Guyz Head Wipes are alcohol free!

I realize alcohol can dry the skin, that's why I generally use wet wipes.  Reserve the rubbing alcohol for the really slimey wipe downs.

After a silent comic at a Renaisance Faire licked my dome to get some laughs, I didn't have anything available except for Legacy of Clean Towelettes and found them very refreshing.  Yeah, I sell them, but never thought of using them like that until that event.  After that episode, I got an idea after a friend's child decided to draw a circle around his eye with a sharpee...those towelettes worked like a charm and removed the marker right off safely.

They must be good to take off a mark from a Sharpie.  O0
