I vote not guilty. Now how do you get compensated for four years of your life..?

Well, not enough evidence about the case for me to form an opinion.  Since she was initially convicted it's pretty much devolved into a publicity campaign.  The police work certainly doesn't sound impressive since one report stated they were collecting evidence at the crime scene more than a month after the crime.
I think you hope they have some other evidence to find the real perp if she wasn't part of the crime--but it doesn't sound promising.

Without having heard all the evidence, who can say?

I think there's a lot more to that story than we'll ever know. My gut feeling is that she isnt whiter than white, but I dont think she's a murderer. I think she was part of something that went badly wrong, unintentionally. But as its more than likely we'll never know the full story, I dont think any of us can be sure.

She wont be able to recoup four years of her life, but with book deals, newspaper deals and movie deals, she'll probably be able to buy herself something very nice to help her get over the whole thing.

I have far greater sympathy for the family of the dead girl.

My feelings too. But, will the investigation continue until the crime is solved?

I think just like with the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in Portgual, they'll 'carry on investigating', rather than to actually carry on investigating. Italy isnt known for its precise and determined legal system, which is probably why the whole investigation screwed up in the first place.

If they havent solved the case after all this time, I dont think they ever will. I doubt we'll ever know what actually happened.

Yup, and thats exactly why I think it will stay as an unsolved crime. I dont know who that African guy is that they have in prison, but I bet he'll be released too.

I don't think Amanda was a murderer either.  I actually went to school with Amanda's mother, Edda Mellas and worked with her at Fred Meyer stores along with Amanda's grandmother.  I had not talked to Edda since the 1980's.  Amanda's grandmother actually bought carpet from the carpet store I work at just before all this came about.  I can say that they are a very nice family and was very sad to see them go through this.  But my heart also aches for Merideth Kercher's family.  That has to be a living hell also!

That's pretty much how I feel.  I don't think she's completely innocent of any and all wrong-doing but the police botched things so badly it's impossible to ever know for sure what the truth is.    I do feel a great deal of sympathy for the victim's family.

We have no way of knowing, but i don't believe she is the ''victim'' of any wrong doing. It looks like the Italian police are as messed up as some over here. Apparently,Barney Fife has traveled to Italy in the past.

Clearly "not guilty" as that is what the court has decided. As to the question of her innocence?????

Of course she's innocent!! 350,000,000 Americans cant be wrong! :D

Seriously though, I dont think she's guilty of murder, but I think there were probably some sex games going on that went a little too far, and Meredith Kercher bought the big one.

Still, all's not lost. I'm sure Melissa Gilbert will make a very fine Amanda Knox in the tv movie someone is bound to make.

Isn't Perugia where that make that candy.? That ought to stick to that because their idea of law enforcement sucks.
