Dame Edna Everage
« on: October 02, 2011, 07:05:19 AM »
An Australian icon.

But... a comic genius with impeccable timing and a dry sense of humo(u)r, or a pointless unintelligent drag queen in a far away country with ridiculous glasses, terrible dress sense and very little going on upstairs?

Discuss.

I vote for the latter. Never could get the humor.

Every time I see him, or something he's written, I just want to punch him in the face.

Apparently, although I think he's bigger in the UK than in Australia.

That was just his humor giving you that impression.

Lots of double entendre.  I get a real laugh out of her stuff.  She's obviously borrowed some of her gag matter from others like Phyllis Diller, but the twists and turns are funny.
