Should I shave it?
« on: September 06, 2011, 01:38:56 PM »
My id says it all. My confidence for approaching women is down the drains due to my baldness. I did shave it once last year but it felt "naked" and I haven't kept it shaved. I'm attaching pics. The backside and top view is the worst and can't believe any girl will like me after seeing it. Should I shave it all before I die a virgin? Alternatively how about wearing a cap?

Shaved would be better. Dont let the hair thing knock your confidence. Hair is basically just a waste protein product the body is trying to get rid of. Not having it coming out of your head is much better ;)

p.s. I really dont think your baldness issue (in the top pics) makes you look bad at all. I think there's a general misconception that everyone on the planet is looking to meet someone with a full head of hair. At least in my own experience, thats simply not true :) And anyway, if someone - man or woman - judges you by how many hairs you have coming out of your head, they're not worth spending time with. Having a full head of hair doesnt make someone a better person than a bald person, and vice versa, and you shouldnt let yourself believe that you're only going to get to meet the person of your dreams if you have a full head of hair, because that isnt the case at all.

Welcome and you came to the right place for advice.
Yes. shave it and you will get used to the naked feeling and you will stop obsessing about your hair, and your confidence will improve with time.
Forget the hats as they just exemplify your lack of confidence.

Are you planning on wearing it 24/7 for the rest of your life?  It's got to come off at some point, especially if-- as you alluded -- you don't want to die a virgin.

There could be a cultural issue to take into account too though. He has a .in email address, and if he's still living in India, especially in a more reserved part of it, being totally shaved might not be as accepted as it is in other places.

GSGUK hit the nail on the head. Shaving your head bald is not going to magically make you a confident person, one that everyone will flock to. Shaving your head is just an outward expression of confidence that must come from within.

Time to shave it. Constant ball caps are for those in denial that refuse to move on with their lives.
So what do you want to be??? The guy in denial or the guy that changed his life forever????

Seems like a simple choice to me.

Yes. Shave it.

I can at times grow confidence and go and approach girls by not obsessing about my hairloss. But the confidence is always like a spike that goes down after a few rejections and my belief is that the rejections are due to my baldness and/or my faked confidence.
I live in Bangalore, a very urban part of India. There is no dearth of good looking guys with a head full of hair, I rarely see younger guys with extensive baldness as mine. Shaved heads are never seen. Only one  guy did I see in a bar with a shaved head, and I'm not sure he is balding or not. He was extremely confident and dancing with his gf.
