Very sly! Give some time for your head to get some color. Like Schro said, you don't want to get burned.

Yosp, I "blended" my scalp this weekend (friday was my first shave) by doing yardwork saturday for about 2 hours with some coppertone dryoil spf 10. I rotated every 20 minutes with a hat on/off. After that I retired from the yard- cause I accomplished my sunning- and then washed, conditioned and applied some 35spf on before heading out again. It did dull the bright white enough to let the rest blend naturally and no burn. I wouldn't advise doing this longer than 2 hours of rotation.
PS... The oil did give a slight sting when first applied
but the hat slide on with ease after!!

Looks great! My in-laws saw mine for the first time this past weekend. They didn't say anything. I wasn't sure if I should take that as good or bad?

I always preferred when people didn't say anything. I never liked making a huge deal out of it.

YOSP...looks great on you...congratulations on making the move.
Have been shaving just over a week and am still working on the color without getting a burn. Have been happy with HeadShade by the Head Blade people (SPF 15).

Thanks again brothers...
I did manage to get some headblade products, the headblade is definitely tough to get used to...I prefer the mach 3 right now. I have been using the Headshed and Clearhead, and they work pretty good.
Used the Touch of Sun from Olay and did get some color from after the first use...will continue to use and update. But then again, I am so friggin' pale, I could probably get color standing under a lamp.

My insecurities actually caused me to go that route, me confidence has steered me in SLY direction. Its easier to take the jokes about the shaved head, then the ones about having a "piece" that will only having people trying to figure it out by constant looking at your hair instead of looking you in your eyes.

Don't give up so easily on the Headblade. I think too many people try it once or twice and then decide to chunk it. I took to it right away for some reason - lucky I guess. I feel it is an extreme time saver for me, and I doubt that I would be shaving every day if I didn't have it. Anyway, that's my $.02.

Ditto. It took me a couple of shaves to get used to it. I now think it is the greatest thing in the world. In fact, I am sporting a Headblade watch, I am so happy with the company.
