I've been BBC by choice for a few years. Well, maybe it's Bald PARTIALLY By Choice.
I used to spend $16 a month to get my hair cut to a #2 on the sides and "finger tight" on the top. Figured the short hair was good since I have a genetic bald spot in the back.
Then I got tired of paying... so I bought clippers and started doing a #2 on the sides and a #4 on the top.
That became a #1 on the sides and a #2 on the top...
Then a #1 all over... until one day I said "what if I just shaved it all off"
That was about four years ago. I kept it clean for the summer. I shaved it again every summer since... starting a little earlier and stopping a little later every time. Not necessarily as part of a plan (last year I stopped shaving because the stock of Mach 3 blades I bought at CostCo ran out).
This winter, I'm thinking I may keep it clean all winter (I've got a good stock of blades). I'm hoping posting here will remind me of this goal.
I've had facial hair the whole time. Two years ago I had a four inch goatee. Last summer it was a short tailback goatee. This year when I first shaved my head, I kept the beard I had grown over the summer just to see what it would look like (and what my wife thought) for a while before I planned on shaving down to a mustache. I never shaved the beard.
Still want to see what I look like bald with a mustache though. I haven't done the mustache in years... and definitely not since I've been shaving.
I personally don't care for a plain mustache on me. I need a goatee or full beard. Post a picture if you want some opinions and welcome to the group.
Thanks for the welcome. I'm sorting through vacation pictures looking for a picture I think would work for this forum... If I don't find one I'll take a new pic in a few days.
I sported a big bushy mustache for a few months a couple of years ago and I thought it looked above average. It's just higher maintenance than a beard... and with kids... I don't have a lot of time in the morning. (and a non-big mustache is kinda boring).
