VoIP options
« on: August 15, 2011, 07:47:16 PM »
I just moved and due to the Verizon strike our internet and phone were not connected.  :( I've found a solution for the internet. We are currently testing the MagicJack for a phone line. It works but having to have the computer on to use it is a little bit of an annoyance. I was wondering if anyone on here has experience with Vonage or Lingo.

What are you thoughts on either of these service (or other similar services).

Life has three aspects: Paradox, Humor, and Change.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.

I use vonage since 2005. Very satisfied. Good price, too. I'm send more privately.

I've had Vonage since 2004. It has worked out very well for me. There are a lot of nice features and the prices are excellent for what you get. The best part is you can take your number with you if you ever move. No more number reassignments because you've moved out your old service area (as is the case with Verizon land line). I've moved a few times over the years, and my number's stayed with me.

Never had any billing or service issues with them. Most of their customer service department is overseas, and whenever I get a foreign rep, they have been the best CS people I've ever spoken to. So I'm quite happy with them.

Thanks for the replies. Everyone we've asked about VoIP phones mentions Vonage so it must be good:) We are leaning strongly towards them but aren't pulling the trigger just yet.
