hey guys, haven't posted in a while, but i wanted to share my excitement...i finally found a shop that does straight razor shaves and i'm booking one for next weekend. up until now, i have only been shaving myself (or not, as you'll see in my b4 pic) and i'm really excited to experience one of the manliest of rituals
attached is a pic of how i look today, grown out to about a #0 (?)

Sounds great...please let us know how it goes! The shaved smooth look really suits you well. I hope to a barber shave someday, but real barbers are few and far between here. Enjoy!

I've had a couple barber shaves with a straight razor and liked it. I'd do it more often, but the closest barber I could find to do a razor shave is about a 20 minute drive away.

i do a barbershop shave once a month, just to treat myself they are really nice

I have a weekly appointment with my regular barber. The weekly straight razor shaving is my way of treating myself and handling stress. The ritual takes an hour. I get buzzed with bare clippers. Followed by massaging hair conditioner on my scalp. Then my barber applies shaving foam on my head and scrapes my head bare, starting from the nape and against the grain. Once all the cream is cleaned, he sprays water on my scalp, stretches it and shaves it really close. He feels every inch with his bare hand and shaves my head until its really smooth. The barber then wipes my head with a warm towel and follows it up with a relaxing head massage using a mild linimint oil. I always leave the barber shop beaming, head glowing and with a wide proud smile. Priceless!

NICE !! That sounds like a treat, man! Haven't yet done the barber shop shave.....you've re-interested me!!
