Reactions to my sly head at work!
« on: July 12, 2011, 12:46:51 PM »
Yesterday was my first day back in the office since going sly and I was a little apprehensive of some of the questions and reactions I might have received from my co-workers.  All-in-all it was a non-event!  The only person to ask me about my head was a co-worker of 24 years and she said that she probably would not have noticed except for the absence of my ever present ball-cap!  She wanted to know why I had decided to shave after all these years and when I told her that I was tired of always hiding my head and that this gave me other options, she said those were some of the same reasons her brother had given when he shaved his head a few years ago.

I've begun to get a little irritation along the sides of my head so I will probably begin taking every other night off from shaving for a little while.  I hate this as I have come to enjoy the shaving process, especially since I started using Head-Slick.  Wow, I've never used a shaving product this good in my entire life and that includes various foams, creams, gels, powders, and soaps.  I've even used hair conditioner  in times past but nothing compares to Head-Slick.  I'm going to have to keep this hidden from my wife and daughter because if they find out how good it is they will be using it for their legs and under-arms and I'll discover my bottle empty just when I need it most.  I also keep my razors hidden - I've had the misfortune of scraping a razor across my face that one of them has used for shaving their legs; I'd sooner try to shave with a piece of barbed wire.

All-in-all it was a non-event!

This is usually how it is probably ninety-nine percent of the time. Glad to hear it went well.
Now you can toss the ball caps and enjoy freedom!   O0

I was apprehensive about my first day in the office, too.  Glad yours went smoothly (no pun intended!)

:'( Get rid of all of my ball caps?  Come om now, Xnewyawka!  Those are kinda like my blankie and its going to take a while before I can get rid of all of the majority of them.  A few will have to stay for protection of my dome!

Anyways, I've agreed to let my daughter's softball team paint my head purple and white if their team makes it to the finals this Friday.  I guess that I get to be the mascot

Sounds good, I was going to suggest that you keep at least one for sun protection, but you really need to get out there and show off the smooth dome! Make sure you use sunscreen for extended periods in the sun as well.

Good luck to your daughter's team, hopefully you'll have a purple and white noggin' lol    ;)

Glad to hear that your first day at work after doing the deed, went well.  For me, that was the most nerve-wracking part of the process.  But, like you and most others, it was a non-event and the beginning of my freedom.

Congratulations on your decision.

I've begun to get a little irritation along the sides of my head

I get irritation in the exact same spot, and find it very difficult to get a good shave on the temples.  I just tried this product out and I can't contain my excitement.  Go hunt down some Burt's Bees Peach and Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub.  Its an exfoliator.  I took a shower and after washing my head I scrubbed my head with this, then shaved with headslick. No irritation, and I had got the closest shave I've ever gotten.  I was able to go vertically up the sides of my head against the grain without any resistance.  The exfoliator did wonders in loosening everything up!

Congradulations and welcome to SBG.

You will like it a lot.

You will love the smooth feel of your shaved dome. I do.
