A straight razor cut is good, but after you've shaved for a while, you be able to give yourself an even closer shave.

Good luck.

 O0
But the really pertinent question is, "What do you, the 24/7 guy, think?"

still a little freaked out, but wow does it feel weird this AM. Thinking about texting a pic to the wife during the conference today to see what she thinks.

Looks good - but as others have asked, how do you think it looks and feels?

I remember thinking "holy ___" everytime I saw my reflection or touched my head the first couple days.  It's a natural reaction to a big change.  If you're like the rest of us, your reaction will quickly change to "wow, why did I wait so long?"

Feels strange, but good. Not sure on what I think about how it looks. I need a day or two I think. I may give the 30 day rule a go, but my instinct is let it grow if you ask me right now, but maybe by tomorrow I will change my mind, or if the wife likes it.

Give yourself a few days to adjust to the look and try the 30 day rule.  If you had long hair until recently, it's a very big step to go full sly.  I had a full head of hair (well - almost) when I went sly, so I know what you're feeling.  The adjustment to the look and feel is quicker than you might expect.  If you decide you don't like it after a period of time, you can let it grow back, but the longer you stay sly, the more natural and normal it is!

Def gonna give it a go through the weekend. Thinking about shaving the face to match the dome, and the wife loves me clean shaven, the barber that did the head early this am didn't have time to do a good face shave, so I may go back in a day or two and have the dome and face done up proper before wifey gets home Sat. afternoon.

Good idea to stick with it through the weekend and let your wife see it live!  Enjoy the freedom of being sly. Warning: it's addictive!!

Still feeling strange, I want to like it, but then again I's so used to having thick curly hair it's a shock.

Gonna hit the barbershop in the morning and have the whole head done and the face, if wifey likes it I'll give it a little more time, if not it may be my last time bald.

Tyler was a genius when he came up with the 30 day rule, at least do that. Even if the wife doesn't like it at first. After 6 days my wife still hated it and I decided to grow it back. I came here and the guys convinced me tomsticknout the 30 days.  I am now at day 27 and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it and SO DOES MY WIFE",  she lobes to rub mu freshly shaved head.  Please stick out the 30 days.

Try sticking it out by doing the 30 day rule.  Since your transition was dramatic, it will take you time to adjust to the change.   My own experience is that within the 30 days, being sly felt more and more natural to the point where when I look in a mirror, I now have a hard time envisioning myself with a full head of hair.

Also, you may find that your wife likes it right off the bat and that'll give you encouragement to stay sly longer.

It's the "who's the dude in the mirror?" reaction, most of us had it even if we didn't have "thick curly hair."  I'd use the word "surprise" rather than "shock."  30 days cures it usually, and it can be replaced--it was for me--by an almost irresistable urge to look at and admire my reflected image everywhere, mirrors, windows, etc.
