Anyone had a straight edge shave or do self shaving with an edge?

As most of you know I use a Schick Hydro 5 and get a really close shave, but always have to go over places a few times, I have OCD and it's NEVER a baby-butt smooth shave. My granddad shaved his face with an edge and I inherited it, never used it because the thing scares me...

I've been watching video's on YouTube about guy's giving themselves self straight edge shaves, WOW, I don't think I could ever do that, but would love to have a pro do one, but then again, with my OCD, I wold never be able to sit through a shave, always worried about getting sliced.

Daven, I once had my beard shaved down to a goatee (Van-Dyke for you) by a very talented barber who first used his clippers for the initial shaping but a straight-edge razor for all the finish work.  It was wonderful!  I got the full treatment including hot towels and a neck massage.  This barber also did head-shaves by appointment only!  He retired a couple of years ago or I'd be scheduling an appointment for myself and perhaps for a couple of good friends to whom I am very grateful.

I've seen barbers webpages that offer hot towel/straight razor shaves. None in my area though. It would be an experience!
