4th of July Celebrations

What will you guys from the USA be doing this weekend to celebrate our freedom?

Let's see, parades, fireworks, hamburgers, hot dogs, and hanging out around the pool.

Shaving my head.
Calling Bingo numbers for my American Legion Post.
Eating up some wonderful grilled Brats.
Spending time with the family watching fireworks (and lighting a few off that I picked up in Navada >:D)
Tis better to have a bald head than no head at all.

We're going to a party at a Friend's house. We'll also be going to our Legion where I will buy all vets a round.

Party this evening.  Another one tomorrow ...

Friends coming in for food and fireworks on Sunday evening along with a few other parties in the neighborhood.

2 other parties on Monday along with another fireworks display to do.

Then another get together on Tuesday with some friends I only see on the 4th.  And then a brunch somewhere in the middle of it all.

By the time Wednesday dawns I'll have had more than my fill of social events...

Every year on the 4th my kids and I head north to a friend's cabin on a lake for the weekend.  There's a bunch of us that go, and what started out as 4 young couples back in the day now has grown to around 25 with kids and grandkids plus the usual 6 (give or take) dogs.  There'll be swimming, boating, fishing, great food and shooting fireworks off the dock.  Love the late night campfires!

The Lovely Mrs. Schro heads a fireworks booth that raises funds for both kids' soccer teams. So, that'll be a majority of the time for the weekend. I'll likely be catching up on work over the weekend.

After the booth closes, we'll probably head over to a friend's home for BBQ and fireworks.

I'll actually be holding my cookout on the 5th -- I have a friend in the Sheriff's Dept and he has to work the 4th. So we'll celebrate on the 5th instead so he doesn't mss out.

Oh, and of course, burgers on the grill. It's the law!

I will be traveling back to the land of my father, Exira IA, to take in the 146th 4th of July Parade, then heading out to the country to spend some time with my country half of the family.

Eating all weekend, starting with tuna steaks last night progressing through filets, rack of lamb and finishing off the food fest with ribs on Monday.  But, as I imagine a lot of people all over the country, we're waiting until the temperatures drop out of the record making highs before we crank up the grill.
