New Guy - question on tanning/blocking

So, did my second shave today. First with the HeadBlade. WOW!!!! it was AWESOME!!!!! perfection. No razor burn. very close. I love that little device. 

My question is this, Since I live in AZ, I have a (sort of)tan face. Where my hair was is very noticeable.  Everyone of my bald friends says to make sure I put liberal amounts of sun block on my newly naked head to protect it, which I totally understand, BUT can I put sun-tanning lotion on for the first few weeks?  I have deep tanning lotion that might help speed it up. Just want to look good.

I'm also looking for the refreshing towelette's at the local retailers but nobody seems to sell them. any ideas for helping with sweating?

Having come through a bout with a carcinoma on my forehead from sun exposure with nothing more than a scar I would say put on the sunblock and wear a hat if you're going to be out for more than about half an hour. I had occasion to take care of a guy in the hospital a couple of years ago who had melanoma that covered his entire head. It started with a little pimple under one eye and ended up looking like about 5 pounds of partially cooked hamburger and it smelled like it was in the dumpster for about 5 days. Be real careful. In the question of form versus function I always go with function, form will get there all by itself and in its own time.
Also, read the ingredients and ask the pharmacist about anything that appears to be written in Klingon or some other language. Oxybenzone is a synthetic estrogen, the effects of which on male the reproductive system are still up in the air. Diethylstilbestrol (DES) is a synthetic estrogen which also provides the added benefit of being carcinogenic to human skin cells.
I usually resort to hats because I haven't found any sunblocks that don't contain crap but, if I were going to look for a sunblock I would start my research by speaking to a dermatologist.

Jergen's Natural Glow is a self tanner that actually works pretty well - you don't end up orange.  I would suggest using that to get things to match a bit better.  Out in the sun thingswill burn quickly so be careful.   After using the  NAtural Glow stuff for a few days slowly introduce some regular sun using a lower SPF sunblock.  Once you get to a shade you;re comfortbale with then move up to a higher SPF block.  You defintely do not want to deal with a sunburn on the top of yourhead - it's more painful than most other areas. Plus I've found that just gettting rid of the remnants I had on top I now get a headache when in the strong sun without a hat.

What it all comes  down to is takign it slow and with some common sense
