Tan Lotion on Scalp damages hair follicles?
« on: May 25, 2011, 04:38:49 PM »
Hi forum, this is my first message.
I am really glad to be part of this forum as i am also a proud sly bald guy  8)
I also want to apologise in advance for my english, as i am not american.. Hope you guys can understand me  ;D

So, the subject tells pretty much everything about my question...
If i aplly Sunless Tan Lotion on my Scalp, will it increase hair thinning, or damage hair follicles in anyway?

I think i will remain bald for the rest of my life, but as i am still in my mid 20´s i dont know if in 10 years some hair clone transplant wouldnt be a good idea...
So my second question is,
if i continue to apply tan lotion on my scalp will it ruin the possibility of a future hair transplant (as the scalp could be damaged)?

Thank you so much for this site! You guys are doing a great job, as well as increasing the self esteem of millions of bald guys!  8) You guys rock!

Cheers everyone

Suntan lotion won't have any impact on your hair growth.  If your head is shaved, hopefully you meant that you're applying sunscreen and not tanning lotion.  You don't want a sunburned scalp.

No sir.
In order to tan your scalp, i think it is better to apply tan lotion than to be direcly exposed to sun...

My only question is if this lotions can damaged the hair follicles that i still have on top of my head  ;D

I rather have some shadows on top than a completly shiny head, thats why.
Thanks in advance for your replies!

Hollywood,

I have never heard of that before and I wouldn't worry about it.  Think of this, does the hair fall out and not grow back on your arms when you apply lotion?  I think you are safe!  Just make sure you use something, a burn hurts like a mofo!
