Hey bro, welcome to Sly Bald Guys.  There's plenty of info here on shaving, so have a gander and if you have any specific questions, just let us know.

We know it can be tough losing your hair no matter what age you are, but 18 can be rough.    The thing I'm sure blondeguy, hellocowboy, and the rest of the gang will tell you to jump in and shave your head.

Look forward to getting to know you.

welcome to SBG's.....yea most of us hated losing our hair also..so dont feel alone on that...but we have realized that taking drugs...gettin transplants or wearing a rug is just NOT acceptable anymore....God has a plan for everyone and just so happens losing hair is part of it for some of us......so its better to accept it and use it as a positive than to stress yourself out or ruin your health and bank account....

there is no better time in history than now to be a shaved bald guy.....take advantage of it!

Good things about shaving?  Let's see:

* It's a hip look
* No need for shampoo or conditioner
* No money spent on haircuts, and no hair loss worries if you're thinning
* Get to try cool stuff like the HeadBlade
* Your face and clothing stand out more
* You always look cool with shades--it's one of the Laws of Slyness
* Headrubs
* Can always grow your hair out again if you change your mind

The only negatives are getting past the initial scalp paleness and wondering what took you so long to shave it in the first place.  Keep us posted!

 ^-^ Welcome, JAG. Stay tuned: you'll like and learn from this site. Blondeguy just about said it all. The only down side I've found is that the slick dome is cold, certainly at first, during winter. 18 IS young, but think of it this way: by the time most of your generation is first coping with the agony of balding, you'll long since have figured out the look your comfortable with. Give baldness a try. YOU tell Mother Nature that you're still the commander of your life. Best, Professor Melon

It's a great confidence booster especially if you are thinning or losing your hair.  Just go for it bro and I'm sure you will love the sly look.  If it's thinning anyway there's not much you can do about it except to let it go if you are happy wearing it the way it is, or shave it and embrace a new lifestyle.  Good luck bro and stick around.  You'll have plenty of help and support hear.   O0

Shave it now, don't go through what I have trying to regrow it.  It's not worth the time, money, or emotion, and it's not as effective as you might think.

Plus, you might be pleasantly surprised at how much better you feel about yourself.

Even though I haven't buzzed/shaved my head yet (I'll be 22 this year, but look young), here is my advice to you....

The stress and worry you'll endure by trying to prolong your thinning hair is NOT worth it.  Because you're 18, as prof melon said, you're going to be ahead of the game by being able to accept the loss for what it is.  I've taken Propecia for a while now, and while it did decrease hair loss considerably, my natural nature is finally taking over, and I'm sick of worrying about my diffused thinning hair(not to mention all those meds / topical concealers/ etc are not worth it long term).  In a month I'll be shaving my hair (school will be over).

The biggest benefit is that you will never experience that stress and anxiety with your hair and you are just accepting mother nature.  If people don't like it, who cares, screw them, you're better than that!  You are who you are, your hair doesn't make you..  By accepting this early and getting used to the shaved look, your confidence will be very high.  MUCH higher than if you had waited through years of thinned hair.  Oh one more thing, its much better to be known as that guy wiht a shaved head, than "oh man that guy has really thin hair, hes balding".

From a fellow young guy, DO IT  *ben stiller   lol

Head rubs don't forget to mention head rubs,,,,,oh and in some cases head kisses and head licks. O0
and as mentioned it looks awsome, and you'll probably feel very relieved and liberated, and way more confident, women love a confident man.

I guess I should read more carefully, you did mention head rubs, but what the heck it's worth mentioning again, Head Rubs, Head Rubs, Head, Rubs, Head Rubs, Head Rubs. Ok I'll stop

Head Rubs, I'm done

I get rubs, but I'm still waiting for a lick.  Maybe I need a cherry on top.
