Big Brother is watching ... film at 11
« on: April 27, 2011, 09:39:27 PM »
Recognize anybody in this clip?

http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/health/A_Big_Breakthrough_in_Treating_Baldness_Philadelphia-112908644.html

My mother just called me a little while ago to say that she'd seen me on the 11:00 news - on a teaser for a "coming up next" segment.  I had no idea what she was talking about but I put it on, and sure enough, she was right!   I've often thought, when the news is running a story about dieting, weight loss, etc., about  how humiliating it must be to find that they've taken some footage of you, shot on the street without your knowledge, and used it as an example of someone who needs to lose weight.  I suppose being used in a story about baldness isn't so bad in comparison, but it's still a little disconcerting to think about all the cameras that are watching us 24/7.

This "big breakthrough" was apparently originally reported back in January.  I missed it the first time around.  I wonder why they're re-running it now.    ??? ???

if they did you could always tell them you did not approve them using your personage on air without your knowledge :P even thou it is a public street if they used you to say people are fat. it is still a form of character defamation

Looks more like 15 seconds of fame rather than 15 minutes!!!!

It's odd how they assume that everyone shaves their head because of hairloss.

15 seconds was enough.   ;)

It's odd how they assume that everyone shaves their head because of hairloss.

Strangely enough, I was talking about this with a few people I work with and they all said to me, "But you wouldn't be bald if you didn't shave your head."    Actually, I would and I thought it was pretty apparent, but it all goes back to the point that people don't actually notice every little aspect of our appearances like we seem to think they do.

...  at least we can tell you shaved and weren't out there looking shaggy.

As if!   :Xo!    ;D

People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.
